Switch Between Windows 10 and Classic Start Menu with Start Menu 8 v5.0.0.20 Windows 8

I reinstalled mbam but it is still really laggy. It seems to start faster but when clicking menu items, it lags bad. Sometimes the window says "not responding" just from trying to navigate through different windows. I'm looking at the settings window. Clicking across the tabs at the top work okay sometimes, but most of the time, it takes like 10 or more seconds for it to respond to a mouse click.

The ESET scan advises that there is no malware present, which confirms my FRST log analysis. There is no evidence of URL redirects etc. and therefore I feel that there is no reason for any concern regarding malware.Regarding Firefox/EV sites, you may find this article helpful. The "Someone else is using this PC" may be due to you being signed in to both accounts.Launch the Start menu and click on the user icon in the left pane.Click on the Sign out button.I can't say why the fonts changed, but to increase the Desktop fonts etc. you could try this.To change your display in Windows, select Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Display. To make only the text on your screen larger, adjust the slider under Make text bigger. To make everything larger, including images and apps, choose an option from the drop-down menu under Make everything bigger. This article may be of assistance on the Firefox zoom query. The image you sent, just showed the toolbar, which seems normal.I suggest that you contact the Mozilla Support Forum if you need any further non-malware related help on Firefox.Incidentally, I couldn't see that you had started a topic yet, in the Malwarebytes forum. It would probably be a good idea to do this next.Dennis

Start Menu 8 v5.0.0.20 Windows 8

My computer is still having major issues.Yesterday, I turned my computer off. When I turned it back on it took over an hour for windows to finish starting up. I left it on over night and it is still running extremely slow. I had not turned my computer all the way off for several months because I am running Folding@Home on it. I had to turn it off to rearrange some furniture. In general, my computer was not running slow before I turned it off.The SSD drive is running at 100% constantly even though task manager doesn't show much disk use.I got this message from explorer.exe:"system error - The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application."My computer is running so extremely slow that I am unable to use it for anything. It took over 30 minutes to launch Firefox browser and it is constantly say "not responding."

Something is making the SSD drive be 100% busy all the time. This starts happening as soon as windows starts to boot. It takes like 45 minutes or more just to see the picture windows displays before you press a key to see the login prompt. In task manager, it shows the SSD drive is 100 percent active all the time even though there is hardly any data transfers on the drive. This disk activity seems to block all other processes on the computer. It's like some other process is running with real time priority and constantly accessing the drive. In the task manager process list, it doesn't show anything that is using the drive like this.

Also, I am pretty sure that I had the TDSS trojan on my computer a year or more ago. I believe that was replaced with something else that also hides itself from virus scanners. TDSS was not visible to virus scanners and did not show up in the process list. It launched before windows even started. TDSS was launched from the BIOS to start processes on a hidden partition at the end of the drive. If this is on my computer, no virus scanner will detect it. I ran TDSS killer from kaspersky but it didn't find anything... However, I do have a virus infecting the firmware of my DVD drive (probably TDSS). I had a brand new blu-ray player that I just bought and plugged into the computer with a non-working DVD player. The brand new blu-ray player immediately started exhibiting the same behavior as the non-working DVD player when I tried to read an install disk for windows XP that was in great condition. Both players act like the disc was bad, but it is not.
