Well if you are unable to play those video I would recommend download Mx Player from this link. and then copy it to your nook colors' sd card/storage. Then from the file manager of your nook, navigate to that mx player.apk file and click on it. It should prompt to install. Just install it. And play whatever you want. OK, I am buying a nook color today. How do I get on the net. I dont see above on the rooted illustration like an internet explorer. Can I get on internet? ALSO, Can I do AOL mail? How likely is it that I am going to wreck this thing trying to root it? I am not that great at stuff like this.

Kely, You can go on the internet in a wireless hotspot without rooting the Nook Color. Just go to settings and hit wireless and chose the signal you want to connect with (as long as you have the password or it does not need one). The rooting allows for downloading applications from the android market which is really cool since there are hundreds of free apps to chose from and hundreds of cheap (

First, you will have to download 2 things, the first thing is an application called win32 disk imager. I will provide a link here- -DVD-Tools/Data-CD-DVD-Burning/Win32-Disk-Imager.shtmlThe second thing you need to download is the bootable disk image of android honeycombI did a google search on the image and found this website-

Now, open win32 disk imager. you will then see a window pop up on your screen. Click on the file folder and select the disk image. then, click write. When that completes, power down your nook color and put the SD card in your NOOK. Then, power it up, and you should see the android operating system.

Hi, I just did this and it boots up android. So far so good. The lock screen appears. I am unable to unlock. The n-button just wakes up the screen. The power button toggles screen on and off. I tried to reboot it, and now it asks if I would like to reboot. I have absolutely no touch screen capability. I pulled the Micro SD card. I waited about 5 minutes and tried again, and it apparently shut off. I was able to boot back into the nook OS. It's a no-go.

I'd like to say THANK YOU! I had attempted several times to turn my nook into a "Nandroid", but all were fails. Now I'm really enjoying the android and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it to its full potential.

In November 2009, Barnes & Noble Inc. launched the Nook, a standard E ink display that operated on an Android system and allowed direct download and even sharing of Barnes & Noble books. A year later, the Nook Color debuted, with WiFi capability and a sharp color display. This was all fine and good until the Apple iPad came along, when suddenly competition to up the tech ante became fast and furious. 2ff7e9595c
